JUSTICE FOR JOY

On January 15, 2010, Joy O'Shea Woomer was convicted of third degree murder.  The facts that led to her conviction are so weak, and so inconsistent with who Joy is as a person.   This website was created by the people who know and love Joy and know that she could have never committed the horrible crime she has been accused of committing.

Over the next few weeks, we will be updating the content of the site, and ask that Joy's friends and family send us stories about Joy that demonstrate what a wonderful person she is.

We are also hoping to raise funds to help with Joy's appeal costs.  Joy was not offered bail and therefore she sat in jail for over 15 months waiting to go to trial.  As a result, Joy could not work to raise money for her defense.  She sold her home, liquidated her 401(k) and used all of her savings.  Her friends and family raised thousands of dollars as well, to cover the cost of the defense and expert witness - a cost of almost $100,000.
